Alps is Open in the Heights

This groovy new wine bar is open! The brainchild of Chris Leo, owner of Riverview Wines & Spirits in the Heights and backed by the team at Downtown’s Pet Shop Wine Bar, this “bar with a kitchen” has been packing in enthusiastic customers since the soft open in mid February.

While the major focus is on quality wines, beers and spirits, they offer food as well. Just like Pet Shop, the food is all-vegetarian and while the menu is currently pretty small, there is plenty to choose from to create a meal.

In case you were wondering if the name is an homage to something Swiss or ski-related, nope. The name is derived from an old Heights restaurant with the same moniker, way back in the mid-1970s. The vibe is warm, cozy and fun, with warm lighting and vintage pinball machine to boot! A very nice addition to the Heights and perfect for a casual yet stylin’ night out.

The Alps is open Wednesday-Thursday from 4pm-12am, Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 1am, and Sunday from 4pm-12am.
