Juicy City and Fresh Ginger for All!
The cold is finally upon us and with it comes the attendant risk of flu and its’ nasty counterpart – the common cold. Fresh ginger is often touted for its aid with digestion and its strength as an immunity booster … thus making it a perfect time to visit Juicy City on The West Side.
Juicy City recently celebrated their first anniversary at their Mallory Ave. storefront. You might have also run into some of the team as they have been working at farmers markets across town, generously handing out ginger shots and introducing folks to their amazing juices. In addition to providing super charged servings of ginger and wheat grass, Juicy City has a full range of fresh juices like the Pershing Field (our favorite) – a delicious blend of orange, carrot, lemon and apple. There are similar variations with beet, lime, ginger, etc. The Peacock Delight is a delight indeed, visually as well as the taste. This royal blue concoction and conversation starter is made from coconut water, pineapple and blue spirulina. There is a plentiful list of fruit and vegetable smoothies as well as cold soft drinks, tea and coffee.
On the food front, Juicy City serves acai bowls, salad, toasts, and a range of cupcakes that include vegan versions. Definitely incorporating more stops at Juicy City into our routine!
