Halloween Half Marathon
and Classic Chocolate Treats

This year, the stars have aligned to have Halloween land on a Thursday, a perfect way to mark the start of the Holiday Season. And with that, an age-old question resurfaces. Will we spend our non-working holiday hours running around like crazy or take a moment to sit and toss back some chocolates. Well, how about both?

First, the running. 2024 is the first ever year of the New Jersey Halloween Half Marathon,10k and 5k. The run is organized by DuCity Runs and will be held in Liberty State Park on October 27.

The Half start time is 9:30 am, the 5K is 10:00 am and the10K starts at 10:15 am.Bib pick-up begins at 8:30 am. There will be an awards ceremony after with prizes and food and drink – fun for all! Check the website for more information and registration details.

And remember, you can reward yourself after or anytime, really, with the festive and yummy Halloween candy from the famous Lee Sims Chocolates on Bergen Ave. This institution has been churning out chocolates since 1949 and make beautiful, memorable treats for big occasions such as Halloween.
